NextGen Global Executive Search has been retained to commence an executive search for a Director of Sales Engineering for a disruptive technology in 5G wireless called ORAN. This role will be responsible for leading sales engineers, pre and post sales engineering for RAN systems (in particular radio units), technical presentations to C-level engineering leaders of Tier 1 mobile network operators, and working with core network unit and distribution / transport unit partners.

Operating as a startup environment, the Sales Engineering Leader (ranging from Sr. Manager to Director DoE) will promote sales of 5G ORAN solutions from both a pre-sales and post-sales engineering perspective. Will work directly with the VP of Sales in the development of sales tools and market promotional materials. Manage technical bids and proposals and support the 5G RAN ecosystem enhancement.
Role Objectives
Working with VP of Sales and your own initiatives, enable by technical presentations and the ability to convince potential customer engineering executives to buy-in on the features and benefits of 5G ORAN systems to aid in closing multiple deals with Tier 1 mobile network operators. Initial priority is on USA with later expansion globally, as well as present customers 5G ORAN value propositions, its progresses and future of the industry.
Lead in supporting VP sales, product marketing, and account managers by promoting the 5G ORAN value proposition. Design and compile presentations, demos, and technical proposals for customers in bidding situation.
Provide technical inputs to the product development team to enhance competitiveness and future proof product marketing strategy for 5G open RAN. Help to develop a comprehensive suite of sales tools from a technical perspective.
Target Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in BOTH pre and post sales engineering for a 4G RAN provider, in particular for base stations / radio units. This is a solutions-based Sales engineering leadership role where managing complex system integration and service type of solutions is required.
Proactively influence the wireless industry and MNO customers to new and dynamically transformational architecture and business models. Translate technical advantage into value proposition from an operational and financial perspective. Must be US citizen or US green card holder.
